The herringbone pattern has been the most beloved laying pattern for oak parquet floors for centuries. The distinctive V-shaped zigzag creates a timeless interior with depth and character. Discover our herringbone collections.
A herringbone floor features short planks laid at a 90-degree angle to each other, creating a distinctive zigzag pattern reminiscent of fish bones. This laying pattern has been used in European palaces and mansions since the 16th century and is more popular today than ever. The planks are laid at a 90° angle to each other, creating a dynamic interplay of lines that visually enlarges and enriches any space. Due to the alternating direction of the wood, each plank catches the light differently, resulting in a lively and warm floor appearance.
